The Centre’s small and friendly poetry group, led by Edmund Prestwich — all welcome. A free event, no need to book. This month we’re looking at Michael Longley in the last six years, focussing on poems from Angel Hill, The Stairwell and A Hundred Doors. Please bring copies of these poems, and any of Longley’s books if you have them:
• Angel Hill: Inglenook, Snowdrops, Fifty Years
• The Stairwell: Waterbirds, Lizard Orchid, Boy-Soldier, Ronald Colman
• A Hundred Doors: Proofs, Horseshoe, The Leveret, Puff-Ball, Cloudberries
Edmund’s website carries full information on finding copies of the poems to be discussed.
We usually, but not always, get together on the second Saturday of the month to discuss a poet and their work, usually, but not always, a modern one. We sometimes take a break in the summer and at other holiday times. Keep an eye on What’s On for details. For this kind of event, it's always safest to check the website before setting off in case the details have changed
