One Root Many Branches: Once again we join Buddhists from many traditions and from all over Greater Manchester at Manchester University’s St Peter’s Chaplaincy, for shared practice and friendship, and to increase compassion and understanding in our society. The theme this year is Navigating Life and Awakening to Peace. There will be invited speakers and meditation practice covering a range of different Buddhist traditions, followed by a series of workshops.
The Convention isn’t a Manchester Buddhist Centre event, and it isn’t held here, although we have always been involved with it and quite a few of us are likely to be there. Please book directly with the Convention and check all details with them, not with our Centre.
• Details, bookings and contact for queries are on the Greater Manchester Buddhist Convention website or Eventbrite. Numbers are limited and a free vegan lunch is provided, so you do need to register please
• If you’re on Facebook, you can contact the organisers there too
• Venue is St Peter’s House, Precinct Centre, Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9GH, good disabled access and easily reached by public transport
The organisers welcome volunteers on the day for setting up, serving meals, washing up, and clearing up after the event. Please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help. Many of us from Manchester Buddhist Centre have volunteered in the past and will most likely do so again this year.
The Convention is organised by a group of volunteers. They need donations, or Dana please, to cover essential costs and for future events. The Convention cannot take place without our support so they are asking us all to give generously on the day.
