About the walks
Walks usually take place on the last weekend of each month, and we hope most will be available to the widest range of abilities (you don’t need to be a mountaineer or super-fit to come on these walks) and where possible accessible by public transport from Manchester.
You don’t need to register or book, just turn up either at the walk start or the train station. Partners, children and pets are very welcome to come with you — just bear in mind that some of the walks may not be suitable for small children.
Walking guidelines
Please ensure that you have some comfortable walking boots or sturdy trainers, lightweight trousers (jeans are not comfy if it rains) and a waterproof jacket, and that you bring plenty of water and a packed lunch.
Disclaimer
Everybody who attends the walks does so at their own risk. This is not to say that the walks are suitable only for experienced mountain walkers or the super-fit, or that they will pass through any particularly unsafe areas.
However, the outdoors can be challenging and dangerous and we cannot take responsibility for anyone who attends the walks, so please ensure that you are prepared and have read the simple guidelines above.
