A new group for mitras, exploring thoughts, feelings and experiences within the context of the Three Jewels
The group will meet five times over five months. If you can’t make one session that’s fine, but Claire and Kay would like you to commit to a minimum of four please.
A consistent membership will allow us to develop trust and to explore how we relate to each other.
Future dates
- 1st July, 21st July, 18th August, 22nd September
Claire and Kay say:
We will be using spontaneous artmaking to encourage group members to explore their dharmic tangles and create fresh perspective. We may use themes such as the lakshanas, but will encourage group members to create art from their own experience of dharmic truths in an open minded way, rather than creating images which communicate a concept.
This is an opportunity to develop depth of connection within the Sangha, through verbal and non-verbal communication.
We will encourage members to bring skills from their meditation practice alive in art making and will support this with formal meditation practice.
We may have a formalised space for connecting with the mythic dimension, specifically the Buddha, through art making.
About Claire and Kay
Claire has been working as an art therapist with various client groups since she started meditating about nine years ago.
Kay has been working as an art therapist for the past ten years, nine of which have been within adult mental health in the NHS. She first encountered meditation and Buddhism at Manchester Buddhist Centre in 1996 when she was an art student.
We are both in the ordination process.
How do I get involved?
