The Friends of the Western Buddhist Order is chan­ging its name for the first time in its 43-year exist­ence to become the Triratna Buddhist Community

A Sangha night sea­son will mark this import­ant change, mov­ing from the mid-1960s to 2003. We hope to show a video each week and hear a brief talk from an Order mem­ber with per­sonal recol­lec­tions of the time.

  • 12th April: An Opening of the Heart — a film by Suryaprabha on the his­tory of the FWBO, 1964 — 71
  • 19th April: Kindling the Flame — part 2 of the above, 1971 — 74, with Sona
  • 26th April: Time of Fire — part 3, 1975 — 77, with Ratnaguna
  • 3rd May: Bank hol­i­day — no Sangha Night
  • 10th May: A Circle of Friends — part 4, 1977 — 79, with Dayamala
  • 17th May: A Clear Vision news­reel from the 1990s
  • 24th May: Newsreel from 2000 — 2003, with Munisha
