Celebrating Clear Vision and bidding a farewell to Phyl!
Phyl’s send off
Half the evening will be spent celebrating Phyl Blakey, because, after many years’ faithful Dharmafaring, she is off to her four-month ordination retreat in Spain.
Ordination farewells are always heartwarming and inspiring, reminding us all of the ordinand’s many fine qualities and exploring the significance of ordination itself.
Whether or not you know Phyl, please come along and give her a great send-off!
Celebrating Clear Vision
The other half of the evening will be a video night. It’s a little-known fact that some of the world’s most innovative Buddhist study materials are produced on the third floor of our very own Buddhist Centre. Here you’ll find The Clear Vision Trust, a Buddhist audio-visual media project.
Clear Vision looks after the FWBO’s audio-visual archives and makes the UK’s leading DVD and online interactive teaching materials for Buddhism in schools. They also run the MBC’s education service, which welcomed 2,200 pupils and students on group visits to the Centre in 2009. This evening the Clear Vision team will present their newest ground-breaking work in the field of religious education and guide us around the online riches of the Clear Vision video archives and what they can offer you.
In town early?
Some Sangha members eat together in the tea area from around 6 pm on Sangha Nights and you’re very welcome to join in — please bring some vegetarian food to share
