Celebrating Clear Vision and bid­ding a farewell to Phyl!

Phyl’s send off

Half the even­ing will be spent cel­eb­rat­ing Phyl Blakey, because, after many years’ faith­ful Dharmafaring, she is off to her four-month ordin­a­tion retreat in Spain.

Ordination farewells are always heart­warm­ing and inspir­ing, remind­ing us all of the ordinand’s many fine qual­it­ies and explor­ing the sig­ni­fic­ance of ordin­a­tion itself.

Whether or not you know Phyl, please come along and give her a great send-off!

Celebrating Clear Vision

The other half of the even­ing will be a video night. It’s a little-known fact that some of the world’s most innov­at­ive Buddhist study mater­i­als are pro­duced on the third floor of our very own Buddhist Centre. Here you’ll find The Clear Vision Trust, a Buddhist audio-visual media project.

Clear Vision looks after the FWBO’s audio-visual archives and makes the UK’s lead­ing DVD and online inter­act­ive teach­ing mater­i­als for Buddhism in schools. They also run the MBC’s edu­ca­tion ser­vice, which wel­comed 2,200 pupils and stu­dents on group vis­its to the Centre in 2009. This even­ing the Clear Vision team will present their new­est ground-breaking work in the field of reli­gious edu­ca­tion and guide us around the online riches of the Clear Vision video archives and what they can offer you.

In town early?

Some Sangha mem­bers eat together in the tea area from around 6 pm on Sangha Nights and you’re very wel­come to join in — please bring some veget­arian food to share
