Continuing the theme of the Five Dimensions, Principles or Stages of the Spiritual Path
These five dimensions have recently been brought to prominence in the Triratna Buddhist Community as the five main principles or facets of the spiritual life, important to develop and keep in balance:
- Integration and mindfulness
- Positive or creative emotion
- Vision or spiritual death
- Transformation or spiritual rebirth
- Receptivity or spontaneity
This time we’re looking at the different meditation or reflection practices we might engage in for the fourth stage of meditation and spiritual rebirth / transformation
Breakfast!
Nowadays we’re starting at 9.20 am with a shared breakfast. Please bring coffee, croissants etc.
Who is the club for?
The club is open to Friends, Mitras and Order Members who have at least six months experience of regular meditation practice as taught in the Buddhist context of the Triratna Community.
It isn’t suitable for beginners — please see meditation courses for details of introductory sessions, or try the Tuesday afternoon practice sessions if you have just finished an introductory course
What’s involved?
The club gives us the opportunity to meditate, hang out with other meditators and receive input on taking our practice further.
We focus on various aspects of meditation including:
- creative ways to work in meditation
- what to do when we get stuck?
- meditation on and off the cushion
- hearing about other people’s experience of meditation
We sometimes end with some chanting and ritual
Future sessions
We usually (but not always) meet on the third Saturday of the month.
