Description:

Part 1 of Tibet – A Buddhist Trilogy

This first part, The Dalai Lama, the Monasteries and the People, was filmed in the Dalai Lama’s residence in Dharamsala. It explores how inner knowledge of Tibetan Buddhist Culture is developed and communicated to the lay community.

The film was released in 1979 to international acclaim and is shown with the very kind co-operation of Orient Foundation who have waived their usual fee

There will be time afterwards for a cup of tea, home-made cake and a chat about any issues the film raised.

Income from the film goes toward the support of cultural programmes in the major Tibetan monasteries and nunneries of India and Nepal.
