Exploring and meditating, and looking at a paper by Subhuti on Mindfulness and the Mind
Subhuti looks at what mindfulness is and how we practise it, beginning by asking what is mind. He talks about the five constants that make up a mind moment:
- contact
- feeling
- Interpretation
- will
- attention
He then shows how these constants relate to karma-vipaka and then to mindfulness, which he talks about in terms of:
- Smrti — attentiveness
- Samprajanya — awareness
- Apramada — vigilance
