Mindfulness for living well

Breathworks offers mindfulness-based pain management and strategies for living well to anyone wishing to live a richer life and feel a greater sense of initiative and confidence

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness, or mindful awareness, is a state of present moment attention where you can clearly perceive thoughts, physical sensations, emotions and events at the moment they occur without reacting in an automatic or habitual way.

This means you can make choices on how you respond to things and have a rich and fulfilling life, even when experiencing difficult circumstances.

Mindfulness Courses

We run two types of courses in Manchester and other locations:

  • Living Well with Pain and Illness
  • Mindfulness for Stress

Training

Breathworks offers high quality training in mindfulness to those wishing to improve the lives of both themselves and others.

This includes training to become a Breathworks Living Well trainer, and training for health professionals wishing to bring mindfulness into their work.

How Breathworks started

Breathworks grew out of the experience of Vidyamala, who has suffered from severe chronic back pain for most of her adult life following a spinal injury in her teens that resulted in partial paraplegia.

In 2004 Vidyamala was joined by Sona and Ratnaguna and since then Breathworks has grown within the UK and internationally. Face to face, telephone and online courses now help people deal with any sort of stress or difficulty as well as physical pain.
