What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness, or mindful awareness, is a state of present moment attention where you can clearly perceive thoughts, physical sensations, emotions and events at the moment they occur without reacting in an automatic or habitual way.
This means you can make choices as to how you respond to things and have a rich and fulfilling life, even when experiencing difficult circumstances.

How Breathworks started
Breathworks grew out of the experience of Vidyamala, who has suffered from severe chronic back pain for most of her adult life following a spinal injury in her teens that resulted in partial paraplegia.
In 2004 Vidyamala was joined by Sona and Ratnaguna. Breathworks courses are now run to help people deal with any sort of stress or difficulty as well as physical pain.
Vidyamala’s first book, Living Well with Pain and Illness, was published in 2008.
