On the ground, the Centre Team, its teachers and other employees implement the vision of the Board of Trustees
Trustees
The trustees are legally responsible for the running of the Centre. This includes Dharma and meditation teaching, and also the administration.
Manchester Buddhist Centre is a registered charity (charity reg. no. 514937).
The trustees are:

- Dayamala (Chair)
Chair
Dayamala is the chair of the MBC. She is responsible for the Centre’s spiritual direction and integrity
Teaching
Teaching is done by a number of Order Members. The Teaching Kula implements the trustees’ ideas:
- Chandana
- Ratnaguna
- Arthaketu
- Padmadarshini
Employees
Vajramudita, as Director of Operations, executes the trustees’ decisions with the Centre Team
Centre Team
The Centre Team consists of five part-time staff and two full-time staff:
- Andrew Gorecki (Administration)
- Chandana (Newcomer Manager, Volunteers)
- Kate Walsh (Reception, shop, and room bookings Manager)
- Keith Green (Fundraising and Marketing Manager, Publicity and Communications)
- Ratnagita (Finance, contracts, team rota, management
- Suryaka (Facilities and Maintenance Manager, management)
- Vajramudita (Director of Operations — main manager of team)
Other employees
- Fiona Cutts (accountant)
- Padmadarshini (women’s mitra convenor)
- Arthaketu (men’s mitra convenor)
All of these work part-time
Salaries
Most of the team earn £6.70 per hour, though there are variations according to need; for example, if someone has children to support
Volunteers
We have an excellent number of volunteers who work on projects and on helping the Centre run smoothly, by supporting classes, working on reception, diy, cleaning, leafleting, selling second hand books and maintaining the facilities.
