Description:

A Buddhist ritual devoted to Prajnaparamita, a female Buddha figure embodying the qualities of the perfection of wisdom

Praise to Prajnaparamita,
Who is loving towards all.

Homage to Prajnaparamita,
With Love and Wisdom in her eyes.

Radiant she sits
On blue lotus and glowing white moon.

Homage to the spiritual mother,
From whom all Buddhas are born

Prajnaparamita is often described as the Mother of all the Buddhas. Her name translates as the Perfection of Wisdom and only through realising this Perfection are Buddhas born.

By devotedly and faithfully reflecting upon the themes of emptiness and impermanence, we can bring ourselves to clear, refined states of mind. With continued practice, we may find ourselves in the staggeringly beautiful, yet scorching presence of Prajnaparamita – transcendental wisdom itself.

If this sounds appealing, please come along to the puja. You may find yourself catching a glimpse of Prajnaparamita. Do you dare to take the risk?

More about the puja

In gathering together on the full moon each month, we are joining Buddhists across the world in a tradition that goes back to the time of the historical Buddha

The ritual will be led in call and response with chanting and verses, practised to develop our spiritual emotions to match our spiritual understanding.

If you have attended an introductory Buddhism course but are new to puja, you will be made very welcome. There is no pressure to join in — it is fine just to watch.
